O'Bama and the Whitest day ever!

Okay,

So yesterday O'Bama hits Kansas City at the same time that a blizzard hits... what are the odds?
A lot of people braved the storm to go out in freezing temps and 50 mph winds and snow and guess what? I say more power to them! I might have gone if I'd thought that my old crappy knees would last the 3 block walk down and 3 block walk back.

Do I think I'll vote for him? No....but he's a good speaker and I'm sure it was interesting... Friends of mine who went thought he was good although the event was oversold (it was free, but SRO in the auditorium).

Hillary and Bill keep slamming away at O'Bama on the trail and if he can withstand that, he may be worthy of being President. I hate to join the "Anyone but Hillary" group, but at this point, he'd have to be better than the shrill shrew (Hillary) and her race-baiting Grandpa...(Bill).

Honestly, I don't know who I'm voting for... I was solidly behind Fred Thompson, who wasn't very solid as a candidate... Huckabee is too iffy for me and good old John could probably do the job, but for some reason I'm just not crazy about him. (although I loved him on Saturday Night Live singing Streisand songs!)

Romney could probably do the job and he looks and sounds Presidential....but yet I'm not sold on him either...

As for Ron Paul... He's got a couple of good ideas and a whole bunch-o-nutty ones!!! He looks like Magneto's crazy older Brother and that creeps me out a bit too!

So, I can't say that I'm rooting for anyone at this point... I just know I'm not rooting for Hillary!!!

Complaints Department

I'm a complainer...

I began to realize it about two weeks ago when someone asked me how I was feeling and I gave them a three minute story about tripping over our dog and falling on my getting-worse-every-day knees.

I mentioned to a co-worker at that time that I was starting to become a complainer. I went on to gripe to her about traffic and idiot drivers and dopey co-workers and the like and only later did I realize what a downward spiral I was in.

Now this week one of my co-workers (another one) scoffed when I said I was a "mostly happy" person. She said that for someone as happy as I was, I sure did complain a lot. Great! So now other people have noticed!

Maybe it's the Winter weather, or the dopey co-workers or the traffic or my bad knees...I don't know... I think I have some legitimate gripes!

Like when the local paper's editorial board says that Governor Matt Blunt's not running for reelection is a good move... WHAT???!!! Are they kidding???!!! Only two pages before that they gave a list of his accomplishments vs. his problems and the accomplishments far outnumbered the debits. Schools and Roads and taxes are a LOT better under his administration...thank you very much!

I used to use this blog to gripe and it was very therapeutic... but since I haven't been able to blog much lately I've turned into a Grump... ask my kids, heck... ask my co-workers!

So I guess I should apologize for being a whiner, a griper, a grump! I hereby will only gripe to you, dear readers and will make an attempt to break into song whenever I feel a gripe coming on...

Like when I'm in traffic.... "Somewhere, beyond the sea, somewhere waiting for me.... my lover stands on golden sands....and watches the ships that go sailing...."

That should make my co-workers happy... unless they don't like my singing!

So I've been a bit lax

So, as you've noticed I haven't been writing much...

Am I lazy?
Am I busy?

Yes and Yes. I'd love to have more time to write, but between holidays, new dogs, work, broken computer and basketball games I've had no time... And as for the lazy part...does it sound like I really have time to be lazy???

Since I last wrote my old hometown of Strafford, Missouri was torn apart by a Tornado, which is weird for this time of year. Luckily there was only a couple of deaths in the area and we only knew three people who lost their homes. From the looks and sounds of things it could have been much, much worse.

Well kids, my time is up... I HONESTLY will try to write again soon.
Hope your 2008 is going well...
