A history lesson

Today as Jared and I were discussing how the "Pitchback" (a sort of trampoline for baseballs that propels them back to the pitcher for pitching practice) was invented by Ned Pitchback and his partner, Larry Ballglove, (who is of course, the inventor of the modern electric toaster), we discovered that we may not know as much about history as we thought.

So we hit the history books and read about how when Albert Einstein was playing baseball, his nickname was "The Professor" and how he swung a mighty bat and had a batting coach who was the same guy who taught the monkeys to fly in the movie "The Wizard of Oz."
(Small world, huh? Even without the Munchkins!) Turns out that he also taught the monkeys in that movie "Field of Dreams," which is COINCIDENCE, about baseball!

So than we began to discuss Ronald Reagan and his impact on the world of pro-skateboarding and how Pat Sajak almost became President when Regan got shot. But the downside of that is that Pamela Anderson, who was about six years old at the time, would have been the First Lady, which she was totally unprepared for.

Our reading brought us to facts about the Titanic, and we found out that the Dad from "Alias" wasn't even on the boat at the time that it sank!!! He must have gotten off before it hit that lighthouse...and I'm thinking he may have taken off with that fat lady from the movie "Misery" and the chick that was living with Clint Eastwood for so long.

So, we found out about baseball, monkeys, Einstein, the Titanic, Ronald Reagan and Pat Sajak (among other things) and we completely forgot that the Super Bowl was on! Funny, I didn't know they ran it in the middle of the season... won't that spoil the ending?
